In the midst of the threat of a third wave of corona epidemic in the country, cases of infection are increasing in Kerala. The State’s Test Positivity Rate (TPR) has reached more than 19 percent.
Not only this, there has been a jump of 31 percent in the cases of infection in the last 24 hours in the state.
With this, more than 31,000 cases of infection have been reported here in the last 24 hours. This has raised the concern of the government.
215 people died in Kerala in last 24 hours
The outbreak of corona epidemic in Kerala can be gauged from the fact that in the last 24 hours, 215 people have died due to infection here.
Apart from this, 31,445 new cases have been reported. Due to this, the total number of infected in the state has increased to 38,83,429.
Of these, 19,972 patients have died so far. The surprising thing is that the TPR has reached 19.03 percent in the last 24 hours.
Most cases of infection were reported in Ernakulam district
According to NDTV, Ernakulam district has reported the highest number of 4,048 new cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours in Kerala. It is followed by Thrissur (3,865), Kozhikode (3,680), Malappuram (3,502), Palakkad (2,562), Kollam (2,479), Kottayam (2,050), Kannur (1,930), Alappuzha (1,874), Thiruvananthapuram (1,700), Idukki (1,166). ) Pathanamthitta (1,008) and Wayanad (962) cases have been reported.
The rapidly increasing cases have worried the health department officials.
Medical officers expressed the danger of increasing cases
This increase in the cases of infection in the state comes a day after Health Minister Veena George called for four weeks more vigilance. The reason for this is the crowd gathered in public programs organized on August 21, the biggest festival of the state, Onam.
According to medical officials, the delta variant is likely to spread rapidly during Onam. In such a situation, the cases of infection may increase further in the next one week.
