Corona virus: Positivity rate decreased, but the second wave is not over yet – Government

The cases of corona epidemic are decreasing in the country, but the cases of infection are increasing continuously in many states. Presently the condition of Kerala is worst.
Meanwhile, the government said that the weekly test positivity rate has come down in the country since the week ending May 10, but the second wave of the pandemic is not over yet. In such a situation, it is still necessary to be careful.

Weekly positivity rate is more than 10% in 39 districts

According to Hindustan Times, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that for the week ending August 31, the weekly test positivity rate in 39 districts of the country was more than 10 percent, while in 38 districts it is between five and 10 percent.
He said that in view of the current situation, public gatherings should be avoided. If it is necessary to participate in the ceremony, both doses of the vaccine must be given.

Union Health Secretary Bhushan said that experts have predicted a third wave of the epidemic in October-November. In such a situation, it can prove to be a big threat to the country.
He has appealed to the people to strictly follow the corona protocol and pay special attention to vaccination to beat the epidemic.
He said that at present the only way to prevent the corona epidemic is vaccination and this should be emphasized.

The conditions of the country are gradually improving – Bhushan

Union Health Secretary Bhushan said that in June this year, more than 100 new cases were being reported daily in 279 districts of the country, but on August 30, the number of these districts has come down to 42.
He said that at present Kerala is the only state with more than one lakh active cases.
Similarly, the number of active cases in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh is between 10,000 and one lakh.

About 300 cases of Delta Plus variants surfaced in India

Bhushan said that so far more than 300 cases of Delta Plus variant have been reported in India. Although this number is small, but still people need to be careful.
He said that of the total adult population of the country, 16 percent have been given both the vaccine and 54 percent have been given a single dose. In Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Dadar Nagar Haveli, one dose has been given to 100% adults.

18.38 crore doses have been administered in August

Bhushan said that a total of 18.38 crore doses of vaccine have been given in the country in August. In such a situation, an average of 59.29 lakh doses have been applied per day. Similarly, in the last week of the month, on an average more than 8 million doses have been given daily.

In the last 24 hours, 47,092 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in India and 509 patients died.
With this, the total number of infected people in the country has gone up to 3,28,57,937. Of these, 4,39,529 people have lost their lives. The number of active cases has again increased to 3,89,583.
Things have improved in the country for a few weeks, but the government says the second wave is not over yet.
